Love Poem For Lovers
Out of the corner of my eye to the silky sheets of red,
I see the morning sun reflecting off your hair,
Like silk it glows and shimmers as a light breeze gently blows,
I notice your eye brows distinct dark and thin,
Perfectly shaped as if artisticly drawn,
You sleep quietly and still as I take notice of all your features,
My eyes imagine my lips sliding down your nose,
A nose that is like a ski slope that gently lifts up,
You hate your nose but I find it quite cute,
Soon lips fall to lips that are full and pouty,
I imagine passionately kissing you and you kissing back,
Iv'e often wondered what you saw in me,
Where I see myself as ordinary,
You see me as the perfect man,
You fill my life with love as it continually flows,
You often tell your friends how wonderful I am,
In return I rarely say a word,
A tear forms with the feelings of not being worthy,
Why you should love me is my biggest question,
And losing your love is my biggest fear,
I move closer to you,
My love for you is so strong,
My need for you is so great,
You are apart of me forever and without you I'm lost,
I kiss your lips lightly,
Even though you sleep you kiss mine back,
Then you smile with eyes still closed,
Thank you Lord,
For not taking my baby away,
I think about all the days she was sick from chemo,
And the days we planned for her funeral,
and I cry,
Large tears fall from my eyes and onto her cheek,
She wakes and looks at me with her big blue eyes,
"Oh baby, I'm still here"
Then we both hug each other tightly,
We cuddle for the next couple of hours as we watch out our window 2 blue birds building a nest,
Each day treasured, each moment remebered,
Never to be forgotten is our love.
